Aberdeen Cepolina

Aberdeen is a district located on the southern coast of Hong Kong island. Still today it has remained a fishing port where local life turns around the fishing boat activity: here there are images of the fish market and of the promenade stretching along the pier where Chinese are preparing the fish to make it dry. You can see pictures of the traditional wooden boat named sampan: it is a typical south-eastern Asia vessel which is used both for habitation and for fishing boat. Aberdeen China name, Heung Kong Tsai, means little fragrant port, and comes from the candle wood trade that occurred in the past.
