Assisi

Assisi is a town settled in Umbria, a region in Central Italy, in the province of Perugia. It is famous for being the birth place of Saint Francis and Saint Claire, the founders of two important religion orders, the Franciscan friars and the Poor Claires. Saint Francis was famous for his love for nature, he was said capable to talk to animals. Here there are images of Assisi: the town is characterised by stone cottage, paving and a beautiful hilly landscape all around. Umbria is a pleasing Italy region where to spend a holiday visiting nice old towns rich in monuments and to eat good food.
