Bari is the main city in Apulia. It is located on the Adriatic Sea and it is has an important trading port. The historical center is very interesting: the basilica of Saint Nicola, the cathedral of Saint Sabina, the Norman-Swabians castle, the palace of Sedile and Mercantile square are some of the main attractions. Bari has the longest promenade of Italy: it is very pleasing to have a walk and look at the port and the fish market. The city is also seat of Levante Festival, a big trade exposition. Here you can try many food specialities: aubergine with cheese and sauce, orecchiette (a kind of pasta resembling a small ear) with turnip tops, sea urches, anchovies and the famous sandwich with grilled octopus.
