Cefalu Cepolina

Cefalu is a wonderful sea village located on the northern coast of Sicily. It is not far from Palermo: a one day trip is a perfect chance to visit the centre and the religion. Greek and Roman ruins can be seen on the rock at the back Cefalu: if you want you can have a walk up there and admire the surrounding panorama. The cathedral is built in Norman style with two towers aside. The inside mosaics are masterpieces of Byzantine art: the most relevant is the Pantocrator, representing the omnipotence of God Creator. Cefalu is a very pleasing village with a typical historical centre and a nice sandy beach. In summer it is full of tourists that catch sun and swim. There are many restaurants. The typical Sicilian specialities can be tried: sword fish, tuna fish, almond sweets, cassata.
