
Mahabalipuram also called Mamallapuram is a village 60 kms far from Madras situated on the coast of Arabian sea. It was the cradle of Pallavas dynasty. Today its wonderful stone temples are a world heritage site. They are spread all over the village and its surroundings. One of them is built in the middle of the sea and can be visited with low tide. Carving is one of the main handwork activity of this place.
