Martina Franca is a small city located in Itria Valley. The historical center is a sort of labyrinth formed by narrow curvy alleys. It is rich in Baroque buildings: windows and balconies loose their practical function becoming artistic elements. The clock tower in Plebiscito square is the symbol of the village; Saint Martin basilica contains a beautiful main altar in Baroque style. The surrounding countryside is full of trulli, the typical conical house of Itria Valley. Itria Valley is an area enclosed among Bari, Taranto and Brindisi provinces. The peculiarity are the trulli.
