Sarzanello fortress

Sarzanello fortress is located at the top of Sarzanello hill just above Sarzana and it is reachable by car or by feet walking along a path. It is a fort built in the Middle Age actor. Today it is open for visitors and it is used for cultural events, expositions and it is also rented for private parties. It is surrounded by a ditch and joined to the other side by a lift bridges that was a common defence device during the Middle Age actor. It is possible to visit all the castle, including the cells where prisoners where taken, climb up to the bastions and look at the city panorama below.
