Sestri Levante is settled on the bay Sestri Levante, whose name was given by the tales writer Hans Christian Andersen. The city is also called city of the two sea because it is cut in two parts by a cape: the two bays are called Silence Bay and Tales Bay. Sestri Levante historical center stretches along a carugio, a characteristic narrow street road with old house types on the sides.
