Whakarewarewa

Whakarewarewa, also named Te Whaka, is a redwood forest close to Rotorua which got famous after having been the natural set for some scenes of the movie "The Lord of the ring". It is particularly pleasant to walking along the path among the trees; it is possible to see rill warmed by geothermal energy. Form the highest point of the forest you can see the Waiotapu.
