acanthus

Acanthus is a perennial herb belonging to Acanthaceae family. It is very common in the Mediterranean forest area, it grows in field and blooms in spring from April to May. You can see the plants in different moments of its blooming: when the bud opens, white petals come out. Its leaves were used to decorate the Corinthian column in the Greece architecture.
