Agavaceae family is a huge group including plants typical of desert areas like yucca, phormium and agave. These plants are succulent that is they have a water reservoir storing liquid in their tissues. Because of this these plants don't need to be often watered. These plants survive also in the Mediterranean forest countries where summer is very hot and winter are mild.
