The America agave belongs to the family of agavaceae. It is one peculiar kind of agave characterized by long leaves, sometimes curled, with spines on the borders. Leaves are silver-green or can have a yellow frame all around the outer line. This plants dies after blooming but it propagates easily from the offsets at the stem base.
