The alabaster is a white, yellow or greenish stone that is used to make decorative object and statue: its peculiarity is of being translucent, almost transparent, in fact in the past it was cut in thin slices and used to make window glass. Volterra, an Italian city in Tuscany, is famous for the alabaster handcraft.
