Ants are small social insects living in organized colonies. Here there are both images of ants colonies and more detailed pictures. Ants can be black or red, small or big. Some of them can be very dangerous. They are very similar to termites that are native to tropical forest areas and eat wood. The ant is considered the symbol of work and production since they seems to be always busy, in opposition to the cicada that is the emblem of laziness.
