The aptenia, or "red apple groundcover" is in the family aizoaceae. It is a succulent plants native to South Africa and Oceania. The small green leaves are succulent, that is they contain liquid. Pink florets have thin petals and resemble a star. It doesn't suffer long draught periods and grows quickly.
