Arecaceae or Palmae is a family of tropical trees, shrubs and vines characterized by a column trunk and a large crown of leaves. The many species are diffused in the tropical forest but also in warm areas like in the Mediterranean forest basin. Palm leaves are used during the Palm Sunday festival, a religion holiday to celebrate Jesus' arrival in Jerusalem.
