The artichoke is a round-shaped and green-purplish vegetables in the family asteraceae diffused in the Mediterranean forest area. Leaves are fleshy and arranged like petals; in some species they are pointed and thorny. It can be cooked and used to make pies or pasta; young leaves are eaten raw with olive tree oil.
