A bell is an instrument made of brass with a clapper inside producing a characteristic sound. Bells have often a religious aim: they are employed to strike hours, call the faithful before rites, signalize a danger. They are also common in oriental temples; in the category dedicated to Japan there are images of stone bells Nikko. The sound can be acute or grave.
