Centranthus ruber also called red valerian, spur valerian, Jupiter's beard is a wild Europe herb that grows wild in field in springtime. Its pink flowers attract many insects and especially butterfly like the machaon. It belongs to the family of Valerianaceae and is very common in the Mediterranean forest.
