
The chestnut tree, or castanea, is in the family of fagaceae trees; it is diffused in the Europe. This deciduous trees is cultivated for its resistant lumber used for furniture and for the edible chestnut: a green thorny shell contains a round-shaped, woody brown husk which hides a white hard pulp.
