The chicas is a small palm in the family of arecaceae trees native to Asia. This is one of the most ancient plants on the earh. The trunk palm is short and lumber, the glossy, dark green and hard leaves form a large crown. The male flowers are scaly-like, the female ones are pinkish bracts: both develop in the middle of the crown.
