Cormorant and shags belong to the family of Phalacrocoracidae. They are marine birds that have the capability to enter the water to capture fishes. Their feathers are black or brown, the bill is narrow and long, in fact they are related to pelican. They make their nests in colonies using trees, reef and sea rocks. These specimens have been found in Liguria and in China.
