The fruit arecaceae trees, or phoenix dactylifera, is a trees in the family of arecaceae trees which is cultivated for its sweet fruit. Probably it is native to Morocco and south-western Asia. It is a medium size plants growing to 15-25 meters tall. This tree is known since the ancient times, in fact in Mesopotamia it was grown for the fruit: they are oval-shaped, brown and are commonly dried. It is easy to mistake this palm with the Queen palm, or syagrus romanzoffiana, which is very similar though the fruits are eaten just by birds and animals.
