echinocactus

The echinocactus is in the family of cactaceae. It is a barrel cactus, that is unbranched, with a globular shape, deeply ribbed and with many spines. It is native to Mexico and America. The flowers are conical and are followed by dry fruit. In Italy it is also called mother-in-law cushion.
