A fan is an object commonly used to refresh during summer. It can be made of paper or weave or also with feather: in the XVIII and XIX century rich women used to complete their elegant clothes with fans. Some of these images are snapped in Japan where fans are still today commonly used by women and are an important part or their traditional clothes, the kimono.
