ginkgo biloba

  

The gingko biloba or maidenhair tree is a trees in the family of Gingkoaceae. It is a gymnosperm which means that its seeds are not protected by fruit like the one of angiosperms. It is native to China but it has cultivated also in America. The gingko is a perfect example of living fossil, that is plants that have survived extinction events and are known just from fossils.
