The giraffe is an African even-toed ungulate mammal; it is the tallest and the largest ruminant of the living animals on land. The scientific name giraffa camelopardalis comes from two aspects: the fur is similar to the leopard one, and the face resembles a camel. It lives in savannas, grasslands and open woodlands. It is 5–6 meters tall. Necking is the typical combat between male giraffes: they use their necks to hit each other and to establish dominance. These pictures have been taken in Bangkok zoo.
