In Tonga it is common to bury dead people into the earth or into the sand on a beach as you can see in the pictures. Graves are decorated with pieces of coral, broken bottle, shells, flowers and plants. This tradition reflects the simple and genuine life led by the Tongans. Religion plays an important role in everyday life: on Sundays all the people go to church wearing their best clothes and take part to celebrations praying and singing.
