Herons are marine birds belonging to the family of Ardeidae. They have grey or white plumage, long legs, long neck and long bill. They eat fishes, frog, small invertebrates, rabbits, snail and large insects. Herons have powder down, that is fine feathers found under the larger ones. These photos are taken on a sandy beach in Italy.
