leafless trees winter

Though in winter the landscape is humdrum and the nature seems to be asleep, the snow, covering the soil, protect the underground seeds and permit them to plants in spring. Here there are deciduous trees which have lost their leaves in autumn and are now waiting the spring to bud. These images are taken in northern Italy where the winter season goes about from December to March.
