These pictures are about lumber, that is wood stacks prepared for various uses for instance building a fence or making fire. The trees are cut in small pieces, like sticks and when dry are ready to be employed. The lumber used for making furniture is sent to a sawmill: what remains after the sawing is called sawdust.
