A mangrove is a tropical forest tree growing close to the water; it has twisting roots forming large masses underwater. These pictures are taken in Tonga and in New Zealand. As you can see these maritime plants are common on tropical forest beach. Many of the snapped shrubs belong to the genus Avicennia.
