medlar tree

The medlar trees is in the family of rosaceae, sub-family Maloideae; despite the Rome name mespilus Germany Baden Baden it is native to Asia and south-eastern Europe. It grows in countries with warm summers and mild winters; it has dark green, deciduous leaves and bears orange, small, round-shaped medlar that have a smooth surface, a juicy pulp and contain two or three large seeds.
