The mermaid is in the family of rosaceae. It is a creeping shrub with large glossy oval leaves and big white or pale yellowish flowers. It blooms from June to September. The petals are soft like velvet or silk. These pictures are taken in Nervi rosaceae garden, a district of Genoa in the north of Italy.
