myosotis

Myosotis is a flowering plant in the family Boraginaceae. It is commonly called Forget-me-nots. Similar names are found in many languages. The flowers are blue, white or pink; they bloom in spring. They are commonly used to decorate garden. The flowers are diffused everywhere in the world. Myosotis alpestris is the state flower of Alaska. The peculiar name Forget-me-nots comes out from many legends. For example a German story tells about a knight and his lady. While they were walking along the side of a river he picked a flower, but because of the weight of his armor he fell into the water. As he was drowning he shouted "Forget-me-not." Because of this it was often worn by ladies as a sign of endless love.
