The pasta is the typical Italy food. It is made from cereals mixed with water and sometimes vegetarian. In Italy there are dozens of kind of pasta, each region has its own specialities such as lasagne in Bologna and trofie in Genoa. The pasta is dressed with meat sauce, tomato sauce, or other kind of dressing, for instance in Liguria it is common to prepare the "pesto", a green sauce made from fresh basil, parmesan cheese, garlic and pine nuts.
