Primula plants are low-growing herbs. They belong to the family Primulaceae. Many species are grown to decorate gardens because of their colorful flowers. They are diffused both in temperate and in tropical environments. The name primula is a Latin word meaning first (prime), in fact these flowers are among the first ones to open in spring.
