Sake is a liquor made from rice that is the typical drinks in Japan: there are many varieties, sweet and dry, and it is commonly drunk warm. Here there are cask of fermenting sake inside a temple. They are prepared by monks and offered to the gods during celebrations. The casks are decorated with painting and ideograms.
