sconce

A sconce is a support hanging on a wall that can be used in place of a chandelier or a pendant light: it doesn't light the whole space but focus attention on a peculiar part of the room. It is made of pottery, glass or metal and can contain only one or many bulbs. In the pictures there are sconces made of brass that are typical of the marine furniture style.
