Soups are speciality of China cuisine since they are nourishing and cheap. There are many different kinds of soups: with meat, fish, vegetables, pasta, wonton, mushrooms and many other ingredients. In general the Chinese have breakfast with a soup, but also lunch and dinner are often the same, though there are really a lot of varieties according to the region. Often restaurants provides a basket for customers where putting the different ingredients so that everyone can create its own special soup. Sometimes you can cook the components by yourself using a large pot of boiling broth put in the middle of the table.
