The sunflower is in the family of asteraceae. It is a composite annual plants. It is characterized by a dark central disc with yellow thin petals close together and a long stem. The sunflower takes name from the fact that it turns facing the sunrise a phenomenon called heliotropism. Its seeds are used for cooker, to make margarine and oil.
