thistle

The thistle is in the family of asteraceae. It is a composite plants with sharp pointed leaves and purple or white furry flowers. This flower is the symbol of Scotland in fact it features in many sign. The legend says that a Viking shouted putting his body on a thistle, so that the Scotland army was alerted.
