yellow rattle

The yellow rattle is a semi-parasitic plants in the family of Orobanchaceae with the peculiarity of taking nutrients from the roots of the neighbouring plants. The name comes from the fact that seeds, when ripe, rattle. This shrub, which is very common in the Italy countryside, grows wild in field in spring and has yellow flowers.
