Carobs grow on an evergreen leguminous tree diffused in the Mediterranean forest. It is a long, flat, narrow and brownish fruit whose taste resemble the one of chocolate sweet, in fact it is used as surrogate of cocoa to produce sweets. It is also used to feed pig. The carob tree is also named St John's Bread.
