euphorbia helioscopia

The euphorbia helioscopia is a plants in the family of euphorbiaceae. Euphorbia is a large group of herbs, shrubs and trees typical of the Mediterranean forest. It loves staying in the sun and doesn't suffer the thirst. It is also named Sun Spurge or Madwoman's Milk since it is highly poisonous. It blooms between April and July: flowers are surrounded by an involucre. The name comes from the fact that the flowers turn towards the sunrise. The pictures are taken in Liguria in spring and summer along path running close to the sea.
