The pallenis is in the family of asteraceae. It is a composite flowering herb. It is typical of Europe, northern Africa, Canary Islands. As you can see the central yellow disc has yellow rays. It blooms from March to May. The name comes from palea (chaff), being referred to the chaffy receptacle.
